Are you bored of the classic ‘dinner and movie’ date? If so, you’re in the right place. In 2019, dating should be exciting…and this is why we’ve compiled six cool ideas for a first date. There are bound to be some nerves on a first date, but these will allow you to have fun while getting to know one another!
Mini/Crazy Golf

As time goes on, more mini golf courses are entering towns and cities as the activity gets more popular. As well as having fun with friends, mini golf is the PERFECT first date. You can get a couple of drinks, get slightly competitive (not too much!), and have fun trying to hit the golf ball through windmills and various other obstacles. If you go to the right place, you can even have food at the same location.
Ice Skating
Although a classic, you can’t go wrong with ice skating. If one is good and the other is poor, this is even better because one can lead and hold the other’s hand through the exercise. Especially during winter with a Christmas tree, Christmas lights, and all the decorations, you won’t find too many more romantic first date ideas.
Picnic in the Park
For some reason, dating has built a reputation for being expensive in recent years. If you’re with the right person, they’ll recognize that dating is all about connections rather than just spending money. With this in mind, buying some food and a bottle of wine for a picnic in the park is a great idea. As long as you aren’t sitting in the rain, you could surprise them with a homemade dish and have a good time talking and watching the world go by.
Zoo
Who doesn’t love animals? We’ve heard plenty of success stories of relationships starting on a dating site and meeting for the first time in a zoo. There’s plenty of things to do, there’s always something to talk about, you can grab some food together, and even sit hand-in-hand while watching a feed.
Escape Room
In case you haven’t noticed, dating these days is moving towards activities rather than just a boring meal. Of course, you can always incorporate food, but an escape room allows you to get thinking, drop the apprehension, and work together to escape. In fact, you might just find that you work really well as a team.
Cooking Class
We promised unique ideas, didn’t we? Cooking classes open the door for lots of fun. Whether you’re both pros, one is an expert, or you’re both useless at cooking, you can learn together and get rid of the awkwardness that might exist when you first show up.
